Sehr nicer Short von Jimmy Marble, irrer zeitgemaesser Plot, asoziale Medien, watt will man mehr:

We follow madcap Zizi and her absurd attempts to abate trauma, isolation, and self-doubt with a social media account dedicated to marbled smoothies. But first, she has to patch things up with her roommate, a table lamp, spend some time with her imaginary boyfriend, and, well, actually be able to leave her apartment without having a nervous breakdown.

Fidel Ruiz-Healy und Tyler Walker liefern uns hier einen unglaublichen Short mit dem inhaltlichen Charme alter Grindhouse-B-Movies, nicht umsonst haben sie den Publikumspreis beim diesjährigen SXSW Festival gewinnen koennen und ich finds richtig jut:

„Disaffected, young gas-station clerk Maya doesn’t care about much besides messing with her manager and getting her beer discount at the end of the midnight shift. But after a sinister race of mind-controlling parasites are set loose by irresponsible oil drillers, Maya realizes that there might be more to life than spending all your waking hours stacking shelves for a corporate overlord.“
